                The book represents a facsimile copy of a monograph, prepared by the author in Russia and deposited in 1984 with the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the USSR Academy of Science (УДК 82.03:82.09. Dep. №17165).

                Describing Translation Criticism as an integral system, the author uncovers the nature and structure of Translation Criticism, its interaction with cultural environment. Examining Translation Criticism as “moving aesthetics” of translation, the researcher focuses his attention to methodology of Translation Criticism, to techniques of critical analysis and criteria of evaluation of translation, as well as to subjective origin and functional forms of Translation Criticism.

                The monograph can be useful not only for translation critics, but for historians and theorists of translation, translators, university students studying theory and practice of translation, as well as all those interested in interaction of literatures and cultures in general.

                The author expects that readers will accept with understanding some politicized aspects of monograph, much less representing the author’s ideological attitude than obliged formal requirements to be met by such kind of researches in the former USSR.

JUST PUBLISHED! Mykola Virnyj – Francuzenko’s Bibliography compiled by Jaroslawa Francuzenko has been published.

This bibliography contains a list of writings by Mykola Virnyj – Francuzenko (1923 – 2007), a well known Ukrainian American writer and radio journalist, one time an editor in chief and a director of Ukrainian Division of Voice of America. Writings by M. Virnyj – Francuzenko include his poems, fiction prose, dramas and countless articles, esseys, reports, commentaries, etc. published in Ukrainian language printed periodicles of the US, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, France and independent Ukraine.

This bibliography is incomplete, and it purposely leaves aside his „radio-graphy” – radio works authored, edited and broadcasted by M. Virnyj – Francuzenko during his tenures at Radio Liberation (1955 – 1962), Radio Freedom (1962 – 1966) and Voice of America (1966 – 1990). 

For researchers, teachers, students and everybody interested in Ukrainian language literature, journalism and radio broadcasting.
